WHAT DOES HCC DO ?

Examples of the many exciting HCC events and activities include:

· Fun and informative General Body Meetings (GBMs) are held weekly during the fall and spring semesters and bi-weekly during the summer semester

· Various educational events to learn more about Haiti and its history and culture, as well as other subjects of interest, such as issues related to the African Diaspora, and health and  safety issues facing young adults

· HCC Week during the fall semester, with activities including educational events, community service, talent show, dance, worship service, concert, and banquet

· HCC Mini Week during the spring semester, with activities including community service, carnival, and dance

· Mr. and Miss HCC Pageant

· Fundraisers, including food sales, performances, art exhibits, and more for both HCC and for Haitian causes, such as earthquake relief

· Community service projects at local social service agencies

· Annual translation service project

· Performances by and participation in the HCC Dance Troupe

· Martin Luther King Day potluck lunch and discussion; Flag Day potluck dinner and program

· The End of the Year Banquet

· Production of the Haitian Star newsletter

· Spring beach trip to a local destination

· Participation in conferences and events held by statewide and national Caribbean and Haitian organizations
